La idea que tenía de Arizona, es de un estado en el que el sol abunda. Y, como habréis visto en anteriores post, así fue en nuestras anteriores paradas pero Flagstaff fue una excepción. Del calor de Page, pasamos a la nieve de Flagstaff. Sí, nieve. Y lluvia. Contraste de temperaturas y de clima pero no, no hay calentamiento global.

Flagstaff es una ciudad pequeñita pero con mucho que ver y visitar. Nosotros dedicamos nuestro día allí, a disfrutar la ciudad y pasear por sus calles. Que, en ocasiones te hacen pensar que estás dentro de una película.

 

Nos alojamos en un motel de carretera (https://www.expedia.com/Grand-Canyon-Hoteles-Motel-6-Flagstaff-West-Woodland-Village.h980984.Informacion-Hotel), para que el roadtrip fuese más auténtico. En Flagstaff hay tres moteles con el mismo nombre. Sí, pasamos por los 3 hasta que dimos con el nuestro. Google maps es maravilloso a veces. La experiencia fue positiva, no como en las películas.

Al día siguiente, antes de dirigirnos a nuestra siguiente parada, fuimos a desayunar a uno de los sitios que más recomendaban en todas las webs que vimos: Galaxy Diner (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60971-d335880-Reviews-Galaxy_Diner-Flagstaff_Arizona.html). Los que me conocen, saben que me encanta todo lo que tenga que ver con décadas anteriores. Este lugar era perfecto para mí. ¡ Soy feliz con muy poco ! Disfruté como una enana. Se trata de un diner con una decoración años 50, de hecho no sé si parte de la decoración será más o menos original, y cientos de fotografías que hacen referencia a estrellas de la época dorada. Lo que os he dicho, perfecto para mí. Aquí lo podéis comprobar:

My idea about Arizona was that it is a state in which the sun abounds. And, as you will have seen in previous post, it was like that at our previous stops but Flagstaff was an exception. From the warmth of Page, we passed to the snow of Flagstaff. Yes, snow. And rain. Contrast of temperatures and climate but no, there is no global warming. Flagstaff is a nice town with lots of things to see and visit. We spent our day there, enjoying the city and walking through its streets. That, at times, make you think that you are in a movie.

We stayed in a motel (https://www.expedia.com/Grand-Canyon-Hotels-Motel-6-Flagstaff-West-Woodland-Village.h980984.Information-Hotel), so that the roadtrip was more authentic . In Flagstaff there are three motels with the same name. Yes, we went through the 3 until we got ours. Google maps is wonderful sometimes. The experience was positive, not like in the movies.

The next day, before heading to our next stop, we went to have breakfast at one of the most recommended sites on all the websites we saw: Galaxy Diner (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60971-d335880-Reviews-Galaxy_Diner-Flagstaff_Arizona.html). Those who know me, know that I love everything that has to do with previous decades. This place was perfect for me. I am happy with the simplest things! I enjoyed it like if I was a little girl. This is a diner with a 50’s decoration, in fact I do not know if part of the decoration will be more or less original, and hundreds of photographs that refer to stars of the golden age. What I said, perfect for me.
